Tools needed:

BRUSHES

In Chinese painting, specially designed brushes are used 毛笔. Traditional brushes were made of natural materials such as bamboo, now plastic or other synthetic materials are also used. Only natural bristles are used. Currently, the most popular are the hair of kozy  羊毫, weasel hair 狼毫 and mixed hair 兼 毫. You can also find brushes with rabbit, horse, rat, deer, pig, sheep, cattle and badger hair. The art of making perfect brushes is not easy, so for the best quality and most precisely decorated brushes  you have to pay very high sums (even tens of thousands of yuan). Chinese Chinese brushes are characterized by different hardness, shape and bristle size, which I will write about in another article.

INK

Tusz  墨 has been used in China since ancient times for calligraphy and painting. Traditionally, a carcass in a stone 墨 块 is used, which with the addition of water is rubbed on a specially designed vessel 砚台. Nowadays, ready-to-buy bottled ink is also very popular 墨汁, however, masters of calligraphy or painting prefer to use traditional stone inks, claiming that their quality is much better.

PAPER

Calligraphy rice paper, or Xuanzhi 宣纸, is traditionally made in Anhui Province, Jingxian County, since the Tang Dynasty. It is characterized by delicacy and transparency. It comes in a variety of sizes from small to extra large and long. A distinction is also made between 3  basic types  rice paper: _cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58_ccd_1994-5cde-136bad5cf58d_19bad5cde-3194bad5cf58d_1994-5bad5cde-136bad5cf58d_13bad5cde bb3b-136bad5cf58d_do Xieyi, z apreturą przeznaczony do Gongbi i drobnej kaligrafii oraz semi-apreturowany._cc781905-5cde -3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_ In addition to calligraphy and painting paper, you also need a felt backing 书画 毡. The most popular are those z grates, which help to keep the right proportions (especially for beginners) and prevent pigments  of our table or desk from dying.

PAINTS

Currently, one of the most popular paints for Chinese painting are available from us in Marie's store. The paints are mixed with ink or water to achieve the desired color effect. The most popular version and recommended to beginners contains 12 colors. However, the 6-color version is also considered sufficient to start your adventure with Chinese painting .

SEAL

Chinese paintings to the present day bear the artist's signature in the form of a red seal 印章 (often also seals of an art studio). Earlier in China it was also customary to put a personal seal on subsequent owners of a painting. Traditionally, seals served not only as a signature, but also as an ornament, because the seals beautifully imprinted on a painting have a great artistic value. Virtually every person / artist  can make their own seal, a special chisel is needed to make it and kamień._cc781905-5cde-136d_bad5cde-136bad5cde-136d58-bb3bf
