HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR BRUSHES?

 毛笔 使用 方法

Due to the fact that Chinese brushes are usually made of natural bristles, taking care of them from the very beginning is very important. You have to remember that  in practice, brushes do not last forever! The bristles after some time may not be  already as smooth as before, and the single hair will fall out_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136dbad05cf58f58_bad05cf58f58_bad05cf58_bb3b5cf58_bad05cf58 will become uneven.  Therefore  making perfect "lines" will become more difficult than usual - then you should also think about replacing the brushes with new ones.

By following the following rules of care and storage, you will be able to enjoy your brushes longer:

First use

STEP NO. 1: FIRST USE

Before using for the first time, soak the bristles of the brush in clean water. It is best to use warm (but not hot) water .  Long soaking is not recommended. Use enough water to get all the bristles wet.

Dipping the brush

STEP 2: Dipping the brush

Let the bristles absorb clean water. After a while, take the brush and hang it (e.g. on a brush stand) with the bristles down until it regains its hardness (wait more or less 10 min).

Using brushes

STEP 3: USING THE BRUSHES

Before the brush gets wet in the ink or paint, it is recommended to squeeze any remaining water from the bristles (from step 2). Then smooth the bristles with your fingers - niech brush  it will be almost dry, but not completely. The proportions are important when dipping the brush in the ink. There should be neither too little nor too much ink. Do not squeeze or twist the brush, let the excess drip into the bowl by itself.

Washing

STEP 4: WASH

After finishing work, it is important to properly wash and dry the brushes. As the inks are colloidal solutions, not washing the brushes immediately after finishing work will make the ink permanently soak in the bristles and color them. Only clean water should be used to wash the bristles, after washing nnec je  gently shape it with your fingers and let it dry naturally with the head down. Never add soap and chemicals to the water  otherwise the bristles may get damaged and start falling out!
