Incense sticks, or xiāng 香, have been known in China since ancient times. They are used for religious, aromatherapy and traditional Chinese medicine purposes. They come in several forms: oblong 线香, round 盘香 and conical 塔香. They are made using powdered wood and natural essential oils.
